- Width recommendations for warning tracks vary with the age, size, and ability of players, but general rules follow:
- For areas adjacent to the backstop fence and extensions, ASTM recommends the warning track be 1/3 of the distance from home plate to the backstop
- For other areas, ASTM recommends the warning track be equivalent to 3 full strides of a running player
- Youth could be 8'
- Professionals could be 18'
